Anita has always loved art and has taken many painting and drawing courses over the years. In university she took some painting classes, along with two years of art history which gave her insight into techniques, etc. Anita prefers acrylics, and loves to use bright colors to enhance her whimsical syle of painting.
“I have loved art for as long as I can remember. I am drawn to bright colors and whimsy. My art is based mostly on my imagination and I try to paint the images that come to mind. Many of my subjects involve the B.C. Coast and Okanagan landscapes, especially the local wineries. I have painted many ‘wine villages’ over the years and have found them to be well accepted by the public. I also love to paint children playing in apple orchards or snowboarding down a mountain”.
Anita has exhibited her work in a number of juried shows in the Okanagan, where she has lived for over 25 years. She continues taking workshops to enhance her skills, and is an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. Anita’s work can be found in various galleries in B.C.
