For over a decade Keith had the good fortune to live on a small remote parcel of land in the Porcupine Hills of Southern Alberta. He was surrounded by nature and its intrinsic order. The seasonal changes and the wild inhabitants constantly informed Keith and led him to see more clearly the great value of life. Year round, birds, fox, skunk, bear and countless other critters of varying sizes and temperaments came and went. These wonderful experiences inspired Keith to make nature and its wildlife his muse.
Like individual words strung together to make a sentence, Keith’s colorful loose brushstrokes join and overlap creating and revealing an expressive bold interpretation of his subject. His fresh unique style bridges and reflects his love for traditional classical painting as well as contemporary modern painting. Keith sees his works as physical recordings documenting his very personal relationship with life and the act of painting.
